Just like with this blog, eh? Sorry if I bummed out or offended anyone with my inadvertent flippancy last week. I didn't mean to be any more of a tool than I normally am. I'm just stoked on the Party Pack and hope people get it when/if they can afford it. My bad.

...there's no new news. Well, other than an update on the Xbox patch timing - end of next week - and the San Van Party Play date - September 21st. If you want more DLC or patch details, check out last week's blog.

But, while on the subject of no news, I do want to give a heads up to those of you that tune into the blog for Skate 3 news. The heads up is to not be expecting too much new news here. The reality is, there's not much news to pass along or convey.

Anyway...I'm back from my Grecian sojourn. Don't read too much into the trip. No, there won't be a "Shred Antiquity" DLC pack. It was just a Griswaldian family vacation, not a research mission...but...there is DLC coming...and I know that's why you're here.

... at least I don't think there will be a problem. Now, I (bobbybobbydigi) may not have the innate ability to turn complete randomness into a weekly blog. Nor do I have the years of writing experience that Cuz has. Luckily, I post so many Facebook and Twitter updates each day that I feel comfortable enough behind a keyboard to take a shot at a the ol' weekly blog. So please keep in mind that I'm still a blog noob, and just enjoy this experience with me. Get crazy, get wild...

I had something all written up to explain the above. It was an insightful look into Skate 3's future.

But then I decided to delete it.

You know, I wonder if this happens at the local hockey rink. You show up, dump your pucks out onto the ice for a warm up "fire around"...then startle an exquisitely disheveled Nick Nolte mug-shot looking dude, who was "sleeping" at 12:30 PM behind the goal net, into consciousness. As he stumbles away, two other "players" arrive...one looking inked out like the drummer from Blink 182, the other rocking a Kramer hair-do and Sabbath upside down cross tattoo on his calf...and as they start blistering gnarly slapshots at the net, they proffer some mystical fungi? Is that a common occurrence at your local hockey rink, softball diamond, or shuffleboard court? Is it?

If you've been lurking the Daily Grind section of the Skate forums, you likely have heard about an upcoming DLC named "After Dark". Here's the low down. After Dark is an environment-focused DLC dropping next week for PS3 and Xbox360. You'll be able to skate the brand new Sanitarium location as well as the OG San Van DIY park...both at night...thus the name. Going nocturnal is a first for Skate and it definitely lends a new vibe to shredding and filming. After Dark was created as a "Thank You" to all the Skate fans out there that bought Skate 3 new and activated the share code included in the game box insert. It is free...as in "cost no points or money"...for these people. However, if you didn't activate the code from the insert but still want to shred at night, don't worry...you can pick it up via normal DLC means...for a nominal fee. Get ready for some night ripping next week!

...with the game out, DLC dropping, things stabilizing and getting interesting...I thought I'd set out on my own personal grass roots "One Copy At A Time" mission...or maybe it just happened because some Dad with an accent like Gru in Despicable Me couldn't teach his kid how to "do thing where you do on the swing"...."Pump?"..."Yes, yes (I guess)"...So, there I was at Bonsor, carving and pumping corners old man style, when a little kid shows up who is obviously learning the basics...I give him the obligatory "yeahs!" when he rolls in and survives, and you could see he was on the verge of bending his knees at the right time to get his pump on...but he was just a little off. After showing him some pointers and evidently sucking as a Mr. Miyagi because he wasn't getting it, I asked if he played video games..."Umm...duh?"...I then asked if he had played Skate? "Yeah, Skate 2, it's sick." "Well, Skate 3 has a pumping tutorial that'll help you visualize what you should be doing." "Yeah? Dad, we've gotta get it." My work there was done. One at a time, baby, one at a time...
